Perämeren Jähti was built according to the old, 19th century
shipbuilding tradition following as accurately as possible the
remaining information on coastal ships and their structures but bearing
closely in mind today’s safety regulations. Jähti fulfils all the
requirements placed upon ships of its size class. Therefore, Jähti can
guarantee her passengers enjoyable and safe sailing experiences in the
way of the old times.
Jähti is equipped with sleeping facilities for up to twelve passengers:
four bunk beds for two people each and a cabin for four passengers at
the prow of the ship with toilet and shower in connection with them.
Jähti’s large lounging area has a direct connection to the ship’s
modern open kitchen. Through the front windows of the ship’s stylish
saloon, passengers are able to follow the proceedings of the journey.
There are also seats available on the outer deck of Jähti for the
ship’s passengers.
The ship’s length is 22 metres and the width is 5,3 metres. Jähti’s
draught is 1,5 metres and tonnage is 25 tons with travelling speed of
10 knots and top speed of 15 knots. The ship has a 250 horsepower
engine as her driving force and, when winds allow, 150 square metres
spread of sail enabling brisk sailing in the more traditional way.
